Team
Karl Schlobohm - Executive Director
Mr. Schlobohm is an experienced corporate executive with more than three decades of experience across listed companies, corporate governance, finance, regulatory compliance, and board administration. He has held senior roles including Company Secretary, Chief Financial Officer, Non-Executive Director, and Chair, bringing strong expertise in corporate transactions, financial management, risk oversight, and shareholder engagement.
A Chartered Accountant and Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, he also holds a Master’s degree in Taxation and Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Commerce. His governance experience is further supported by current and former board and committee roles, including with the Australian Shareholders Association and Wesley Mission Queensland.
He brings a calm, measured, and professional approach to board leadership, with a strong focus on transparency, ethical standards, and long-term organisational value.
Nick Tate - Executive Director
Mr. Tate is a highly experienced exploration geologist with more than 40 years in the resources industry, including over 35 years specialising in geological mapping, alteration systems, and mineral discovery. He is widely respected for his practical, field-based approach and deep expertise in porphyry copper-gold, epithermal gold-silver, and shear-zone mineral systems.
A true “boots on the ground” geologist, Mr. Tate has worked on exploration projects across Australia, PNG, Southeast Asia, Mongolia, the Americas, and Africa, contributing to multiple discoveries through mapping, drill targeting, geochemistry, and structural interpretation. His strengths lie in recognising mineralised systems in the field and translating observations into successful exploration programs.
Mr. Tate is also well known as an industry educator and mentor, having produced more than 100 instructional videos covering geological mapping, RC and diamond drilling, logging, and practical field techniques. His hands-on teaching style and commitment to sharing knowledge have made him a valued figure among both emerging and experienced geologists.
Shaun Ramsden - Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Ramsden is a multidisciplinary earth scientist and founding member of seven energy and resource startups, including two companies he personally established and led from inception that are currently based in New Zealand. His experience spans early-stage exploration, technical development, and strategic leadership. His work bridges frontier resource plays and commercial execution, covering coal seam gas (Mongolia), native hydrogen and helium (New Zealand, South Australia, Asia-Pacific, SE Asia), oil and gas (NW Shelf, Queensland), carbon capture and storage (South Australia), Ni-Cu-PGE systems and critical minerals (West Musgraves), and low-sulphidation epithermal gold (New Zealand).
Shaun is known for his ability to identify overlooked geological opportunities, build technical confidence around them, and convert those insights into investor-ready ventures. He has led teams through every phase—from geological analysis and regulatory approvals to tenement strategy, stakeholder negotiation, and capital raising. With a career grounded in both field science and business development, Shaun brings a unique combination of vision, technical depth, and executional drive to the evolving energy and resource landscape.
Firas AlMohansen - Country Manager
Mr. AlMohasen is the Co-Founder and the Chief Strategy & Product Officer (CSO) at Agile Ventures, a venture builder studio focused on developing game-changing businesses in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As CSO, he leads a team of high-performing leaders and employs an experimental approach to reimagine existing structures of value creation and spark, incubate, and scale new ventures that create value to society and businesses.
Before Agile Ventures, he was a Digital Product Manager at 910ths in Takamol, assisting in the development and launch of a $400 million fund-of-funds program targeting VC and PE funds. While at 910ths, he also served as Product Manager, leading the development of a digital platform that connects Startups with Investors and Advisors from the idea stage.
Before Takamol, Mr. AlMohasen worked at Milliman Inc. as an actuary, a prestigious insurance consulting firm. His skills include following the right series of questions to ask, design thinking, systems thinking, lean user research, growth hacking, disruptive strategy, gamification, and getting things done.
